Depends on the Price, Condition & Service History.
250k miles is a lot personally but these cars can easily run up to 300k miles or more.

I would check for Fluid Leaks, Suspension Bushings, Control Arms...Complete suspension.
Timing belt/Water pump history (These needs to be replaced every 90-100k miles)

What are they asking for the car?

that's what i see but i'd only have about 50k left...that is alot i that would be foolish to give up my 137k mile 2000 2gs for that 430. I wouldn't get much out of it

See its like I'm trying to make my $ work for me . I need a key, door actuator, some leaks, struts. It'll cost me about 1500 to get it all right then add another 1500 is 6 months worth of car payments towards the 6500 I still owe. And from what I see the car isn't worth that now. So if I wait it'll be worth less and I still owe 6500. So I found a place that will take my trade in without adding any of my loan to the new car which is going for around 13500 give or take . So instead of fixing up this 2g I can kind of Starr over with a newer model. And can just pay that one off...put that 3000 towards the 13500 instead. U see?

I have a 2002 gs300 and it is solid. Never needs anything but routine maintenance......and I recently had to do the front shocks ($1k) due to all the junk roads in hawaii
I am looking to buy a body kit or front/rear bumpers (black) for my gs300 if anyone knows anyone on Oahu. Shipping to HI on ebay is a killer!!!
Mahaloz :-).

I wouldn't buy a 2006 GS simply for the Gen 4 nav screen. It looks so very dated. Perhaps I am picky.

2nd gens gs's have garbage suspension. You'll end up replacing every rubber piece.

Hey..well I ended up getting a 2008 gs350 that "gray blue"...I forgot the name...on black interior. Had about 142k miles when I got it November 2016...I'm at 158k now. It's been running. I've changed the battery in the car. And I found out its leaking oil from the rear main seal, oil pan gasket and transmission pan...found someone that can fix for 927. Drives good. I need an alignment and tires right now. Annnd...when I accelerate hard it produces a smell that now I am used to but my kids complain it smells like the gas people make....I took the car to my nearby Lexus dealer for ainspection to confirm it was leaking as I was told and regarding the smell they said use 91 always but it will take about 10 full tanks ...I have been using 91 not at 10 full tanks but I have been using it and it's better but still produces the odor...any thoughts?

My 98 GS400 has 286k on it, I've had it since 2011 and more than doubled the miles on it now (bought with 138k), first Lexus and by far the best car I have had since I started driving in 1983....

No regrets, its been a great car. Only issues are just keeping up on maintenance and wear and tear.

If you are going be in a 2GS for the long haul, Issues for the 98-05 GS that I have personally seen.

Tie rods, inner and outer
Ball Joints (DO NOT NEGLECT THEM!), I've done 2 sets in 140k miles. But they are EASY and low cost, I can knock them out in 15 min a side.
Front "rear" caster arm, aka Control Arm #2, worn causes shaking. Dont' screw with aftermarket "DIY" bushings, not worth it, not reliable enough for the long haul.
Rear tie rod (aka Control Arm #2) adjustment frozen. Not critical but once I put new shocks (replacing my FACTORY shocks) on at 276k it reared its head as I disturbed the alignment and it got me off. And my factory shocks were still pretty good.
Broke a few key fobs, they are just sorta weak....
Fuel gauge started reading off some over 200k where if low fuel light came on you might get 5-10 miles, where I used to get 50+. When it stumbles for low fuel, you are DONE....
Shields on exhaust cause leaks. I patched with 2" band clamps, problem solved. Remove the heat shields.... Save the exhaust.

I rebuilt my factory alternator at 285k (just needed brushes, very easy)
I rebuilt my factory starter around 275k $25 in dealer parts to rebuild the solenoid contacts and $20 for an intake upper/lower gasket set, but you only need the lowers.
I use Amsoil and change engine oil ever 25-30k (and oil analysis shows engine in very good shape), I use around 1-1.5 quarts of oil every 20k miles. Yes its solid....
I step on it to WOT probably daily, not afraid to punch it.
I have never got below 19 mpg, averaging 22-24 city/highway, my best is 32.8 (160+ miles, some with a tailwind) but 27-28 is more common highway
I replaced factory fuel pump and fuel filter around 270k. Easy, can do in 20min start to finish taking my time. Don't replace the filter, really didn't need to. Saves $25 and if you aren't careful it can cause a internal tank leak, see my posts about it. Easy to avoid, read my posts.

Its just been a great car. Reliable as they come. Never left me stranded. Not saying some of the suspension issues haven't been a cake walk (rusted bolts on the rear tie rod took me an hour a side to cut out), but by far best car I have ever had.

Yea thanks for your concern the hit felt harder than it looked. I thought the car would be much worse. But it shifted the back. Made the read doors almost impossible to open and close. But it was very clean. I would have kept it as ot was the first car i purchased/financed all on my own and it was nearly paid for...but the accident is what got me out of my loan and able to get an 08 gs 350 that i wanted next anyways....but i miss my lil bubble eyed friend lol

Yeah, its hard to let a good friend go! Especially that way.

I like the idea of a 3GS, but not sure I want a V6. I'm in love with how awesomely smooth the 1UZ-FE is. My wife's RX330 doesn't compare at ALL. But I've never got a good look at a GS350 yet....
