Default What should I know about 2009 GS350

I am tempted to look at a GS350 not too far from me. I was wondering what oil you recommend, both transmission and motor oil. Does it come with auto folding mirrors? How about remote start?Do you have any complaints? Is there anything I should know about? I am tempted to go soon, but I will probably wait for Memorial day. I do worry that it could be gone the next time I call. It is the same color as my current car which is okay. I wish is had the ML sound and was a 2010, but if I get a good deal, it would be okay.

Thank you

I drove it, it has a rip in the rear seat, probably from a car seat. The suspension feels like it should be replaced. He told me that all he had done is the oil, brakes, tires, and battery replaced. Beyond that, there were the small imperfections in the paint. He had one of the clear bras put on. Not too in love with that. I probably should have taken it out more. His place isn't very close to the freeway, so it was side streets for me. I didn't put the transmission in power mode, I did shift it for myself a little. There were times when I thought the shifts weren't the smoothest. It felt pretty strong I guess. I tried the brakes with no hands and it tracked nicely. The covers that the cars come with makes it difficult to tell if there are any leaks. He originally told me he had gotten rid of some of the maintenance records. When I was there, he said he had thrown them all away. It also bothered me that the oil maint light was on, the ave mileage was 14.8 and that there was heavy corrosion on the battery terminal. I might make him an offer, but not entirely sure. I might wait a few days.

Depends on the mileage and the price you pay. You can check out the vehicles history on mylexus.com simply just put the cars vin number and it will show all service preformed at any of the dealerships. I would also do a car check to see if its been in an accident. I know in CA theres a lot of dealers posing as individuals that sell salvaged or rebuilt title vehicles. You can always tell the buyer you want to take it to the dealer to do an inspection.

The things to look out for, if the car has 80-100k I suggest you replace the water pump as they slowly seep out from near the radiator fan.

Oil you can run any engine oil you prefer, I run regular oil and do it more often. The transmission you only use toyota fluid, and do not recomend you fully drain and flush the whole system.

Thanks, I suspect that it does have a leaking water pump. I checked the car, it hasn't been serviced much by the dealer. Just when he bought and once for a recall in 2015. Is Orange/Red the standard coolant?

Should be bright red, you can see if the water pump is leaking by looking behind the radiator fan there will sometimes seep pink foam out of the water pump.

The pump is cheap and easy to install. With any used car that you plan on keep for awhile you should factor in intial maintance repairs. Plugs, coolant flush, top engine clean, ac vent filter, serpentine belt and tensioner etc.
