Default Different engine oil capacity for AWD vs RWD

Has anyone else noticed that the engine oil volume for the GS350 AWD is larger than for the RWD car.

I am guessing this extra oil goes to the front diff, as Lexus tells me the front diff oil cannot be replaced.

Thoughts?

Its because the AWD and RWD have different oil pans. Engine oil does not go to the differential. And yes, the differential fluid can be changed.

Thanks, Lexus service dept tells me no. I wonder why, as they always want to do more work, rather than less.

Any pictures or links you might be able to share on this?

Thanks,
