How are your cars for body panel rust?
I have an 07 with 90k on it and I just noticed a bunch of blistering on the right rear fender well. I am a little shocked but I did by the car used. I am debating whether to do the repair or just get rid of it on the basis it will just start rotting somewhere else in a year. I am in western Canada where rust isn't a real concern but the car did spend its first 30k miles years in the salty east.
Has anyone has rust appear but only in one area?

FALSE ALARM - For you guys at least
Took her to a shop and the manager said the rust was a result of a poor body repair from some kind of previous damage. That makes sense because the rest of the car lived through the same conditions and no other rust visible. It looks like maybe body- filler in the blistering area and unfortunately for me, they can't offer any kind of a warranty without complete replacement of the panel (over $3k) The shops around here are hurting for work so I have no doubt he would do a cheaper repair if he could. Car has 90k miles on it so hard to justify that.

Even though it isn't a Lexus issue I did discover the cars have a real lip on the inside of the fender wells that looks like it would store salt deposits. Something to consider when you wash the car or are thinking about rust proofing. That would seem to be a critical area to protect.
