Default rear brakes wont disengage with new pads

having an issue with brakes. i posted it in one forum but wanted to provide a link in a couple other applicable places.

Sounds like your floating pins are stuck, common problem on GS and IS lexus. When you removed the calipers to install the pads did the bottom pin slide freely?

2 options:

1: You can buy a new rear rebuilt calipers with carriers

2: You can remove the whole caliper assembly from the car and using a torch heat the pin until you are able to knock it loose with a hammer. Then you can lightly sand the pin and add grease to it.
