Default Sway bar break during strut change?

I'm getting my struts replaced tomorrow on all corners, but the mechanic said my sway bar might break and may require replacement because my car is around 10 years old, is this true?

I've never heard of sway bars breaking. Did the mechanic show you what he was talking about?

He's gonna show me tomorrow and check it out before proceeding.

Maybe he is talking about the end link bushings or bolt threads. The sway bar itself breaking isn't possible under this work. I just swapped out my struts on a 07 GS350 with 143k miles and everything went fine with the sway bar links.

I see you're in Canada. He's probably talking about the end links. That's common that the end link nuts seize and you have to torch them off or cut them off.

Spray some pb blast on the end links several times a week to help un-seize the nuts

So I got all 3 struts replaced and but then during the procedure for the corner, one spring had been snapped, so my question is, should I replace 2 front coil springs or just the broken one? because I only ordered 1. I've been driving for months now and didn't even notice it.

You should change then both at the same time but since the labor for both will be separate I say change the one that's in the mail and order another one if the height /balance of the car is off.

you might as well go aftermarket lowering springs. less body roll, and a sexier looking height. i have a friend that lives in Calgary, Canada with a dropped RSX. If he can manage, sure you can.
