08 450h aftermarket radio replacement
I have an 08 GS450h and couldn't find a thread on aftermarket radio replacement and sound system installs on a gen3 450h by searching on my iPhone.
Here's is my dash, I'm trying to determine if I can remove the lower "radio/CD" unit from the upper nav/AC portion and install an aftermarket radio without losing any controls of my ac or nav.
Also, if anyone has pix of GS450h installs and sub enclosures please send them.
Thank you in advance.

What is a LOC?
I use to install so I'm familiar with most equipment. I was considering just dropping in a JL 13 W7 on a JL1000 with a RCA adaptor to my factory head unit but I'm not sure how that will sound. I think it will be fine being I have the Mark Levinson sound system as my mids and highs.

I've taken the entire head into assembly out just like the video. That's not the issue. I'm looking for people who have taken the actual lower "radio" portion of the entire into apart from the nav and a/c controls and installed an a/m receiver.
Removal of the entire head unit is very easy as long as you have hook picks to access the smaller panel behind the ashtray-under the radio.

LOC = line out converter, Hi-low, or rca adapter.... they're all the same thing.
I would leave the factory head unit setup, compared to other stock radios or even some aftermarket its really not a bad setup plus its a cleaner look than any quick aftermarket setup ... unless you want to spend countless hours with fiberglass (at that point I hope its a show car).
JL 13 W7 is overkill and requires lots of airspace, you'll give up a good part of your trunk if thats what you want. Highs and mids won't really matter with that amount of bass anyways lol... really just depends on what you want your end result to be.
