Default Thanks for this thread.

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread - my GS460 started developing the same issue some months back, slowly getting worse - replaced the plugs, replaced the coilpacks, cleaned the MAF sensor, cleaned the throttle body - nothing helped - finally worked out with a scan tool the ECU was retarding ignition timing due to knock - but still didn't know why... professional mechanic recommended pulling all the direct injectors and get them tested and cleaned for $thousands - then I found this thread, and $20 worth of injector cleaner and a full tank of fuel later - it's running like it did when I first bought it again! Wish I'd found this sooner.
Anyway, thanks again - this saved me a bundle and I'm back to loving my GS460 again!
Just for anyone who finds this in the future, I couldn't get the Lexus brand injector cleaner, so I used Penrite as it seemed to have good reviews - took about 400km of driving before the issue totally cleared up so be patient. From now on I'm putting injector cleaner through the system every 5000km.

I used Penrite Petrol Injector Cleaner - it's an Australian made product so not sure what its availability is outside of Australia and New Zealand. Liquid Molly also seems to get good reviews and that should be available everywhere.
