2007 gs350 awd - brake pedal feeling stiff at startup
Hey guys,,,
Have an 07 gs350 awd and lately the pedal feels stiff and doesn't depress all the way down at startup. Sometimes the steering wheel will go back up as if I have just stopped the car and occasionally I will get the message on the dashboard that I need to press the brake pedal at startup even though I am doing that. Dealership claims they can't duplicate problem and don't know what it could be. Any experience with this issue?? Thanks in advance. I am still under CPO

A car needs to be started to create vacuum that vacuum goes to the brake booster. If pedal is hard at first start up then that booster is not getting full vacuum to help assist the pedal feel.
I would start the engine have someone press the brake then inspect the big vacuum hose from the brake booster to the engine. If theres no hissing take off the hose from the booster and see if the hose is getting vacuum. If it is not getting vacuum then the hose is either cracked or clogged or your check valve is damaged. If you do get good strong vacuum then your brake booster maybe damaged from inside.
What I dont get is why the steering wheel goes up? Maybe that could be a bad brake switch?
