227 miles sounds about right, I'm from NY too.... Too much stop and go. I average around 12 mpg

I'm now at 170 range approximate and 28.5 trip A. Trip info consumption after refueling is 8.1. I don't know if Lexus checked the air filter or throttle body but I do know I have to take it back asap. That heater thing sounds like the same thing that happens with the AC. I'll try it. But this NYC weather is crazy. It's 25 degrees outside right now. Lol

227 sounds about right? Damn. That's crazy. I went to the dealer and the service rep said 227 is low for a full tank and to reset the trip information right before I fill up. But it doesn't make any sense to me because that doesn't reset the cruising range/ range approximate. I get 227 when I top off the tank. Now imagine the number i would get if I didn't top off. The car only have 47,683 miles on it and it's an 09. I would think the distance to empty would be better than this on a full tank. Go figure. Thanks for the input guys. Appreciate it. Any other New Yorkers with 3g GSs on here that can share their range approximates on a full tank?

With the 2011 GS 350 AWD, on highway with the cruise control set at 55 mph, I do 37 mpg on regular gas. In city only driving, I get 14.5 mpg.

I measure my mpg by filling up the tank until you can't add an once of gas and always reset the odometer. I noticed the mpg provided by the display was innacurate the only time I bothered checking it out. Hope it helps.

TYPO in my previous post:

the mpg in the city only driving is 24.5 mpg. But I must add that I drive conservatively and there is very little bumper-to-bumper traffic at the hours I drive.

P.S. I used to do 29 mpg with a 2009 ES350 in city and 21 mpg with a 2009 RX350 in city (regular gas).

Good looking. Thanks. I reset the odometer after every fill up also. I'm guessing the stop and go in NY is the biggest culprit. I mostly do city driving. Thanks every one for their input. Well appreciated.

Just filled up tonight (always put 93 in my cars which require premium) and my range approximate read out at 270 miles. While the mpg's toy with this number, my average is about 16-17mpgs between city and highway driving. Highway driving I can eek out near 30, just a little above sometimes. Hope this helps.

I just want to add the following; in theory, when one is filling up the gas tank, one is not supposed to keep on adding gas until you literally can't add a single once more. Even the guy behind the service counter at the Lexus dealer told me that you are supposed to stop filling up your gas tank as soon as the pump stops the first time. And that is because there is a charcoal canister that recuperates the fuel vapor, or something like that.

Nevertheless, I have done that (filled up until you can't add an once) for years and years and so far I've never had a problem.

The reason I do it this way is that otherwise it wouldn't be possible for me to know my exact and precise mpg. I'm very ****, LOL!!!!!

Update. I switched from she'll to bp. I stopped topping off the tank. "Pause" lol and I now hit the hissy more to and fro work. Just filled the tank and now my range approximate is at 326. Hoping it goes up a lil more. Thank you all for your input.

I have an 08 350 GS AWD and I get about 390 miles per tank driving about 80/20 highway/city. I sometimes blend my fuel to approximate the 91 grade recommended, but usually I filled up with 93 grade fuel at CostCo. Your engine's computer can adapt to the lower grade fuel, but you might lose some power. If you drive like a granny, the way i do, it wouldnnot be a problem. Only use high grade if thee manufacturer recommends it; otherwise just use regular. I accidentally filled up entirely with low test this week and I think my mileage is slightly lower.

I know the car gets around 18 mpg for city and side street driving, but I have not tracked mileage for a full tank of city driving yet. I guess I would get about 250 to 300 per tank of mostly city driving.

I blend fuel by using one of the trip odometers. I zero it out as I fill-up, then fill the tank at 190 miles driven alternating high grade for a half tank then low grade for the next half tank.

Here is a quote from the manual:

If 91 Octane cannot be obtained, you may use unleaded gasoline with an Octane Rating as low as 87 (Research Octane Number 91).However, use of unleaded fuel with an Octane Rating lower than 91 may result in engine knocking or drastically reduce output to protect itself while driving with a heavy load. Persistent knocking can lead to engine damage and should be cor￾rected by refueling with higher octane unleaded gasoline.

I keep pretty detailed fuel logs in the Fuelly app. I have a 08 GS 350 AWD. I live exactly at sea level, and everywhere here is perfectly flat. There are zero mountains. I drive 14 hours every other weekend, at constant highway speed, so that helps my fuel economy. On those trips, I usually use cruise control to get optimum fuel economy. Around town, I get ~21-22. Highway, I get 26 on average. I do not have extensive around town driving. I live about 3 miles from the interstate, and my work is about a mile off, so my ‘city driving’ is not horrible city. If I was doing exclusively big city, I imagine that I would see 16-17mpg regularly.

You can try to reset your ECM by removing the negative battery for like 5min or so that might troubleshoot your computer and bring it back to factor specs 👍🏼 Mine is 08 gs350 I’m averaging 348-353 range approx. combined city/highway 21-22 ,, which I read on Lexus website says the total range should read after fill up 414mi , Maintaiance is the key 🙌🏼 I hope I Helped
