Default Battery dead? how? (2008 GS AWD)

So tonight I goto my car to go buy something to eat and nothing will turn on. When I hold my key fob to the start button, nothing registers. The doors won't lock, none of the lights come on. Must be a dead battery? I only question it because I didn't leave any lights on, leave the key fob in the car or anything that would drain the battery. Also, the key battery has been low so i've been starting it by holding the key to start button, could that be the reason the car battery died?

How do I fix this? Should I just go ahead and get a new battery and replace it? Its Saturday night so can't get to the dealership until Monday. Please help, anything would be appreciated.

Ok i think I know why the battery might have died. This morning, I went to roll my windows up. I may not have pressed the start button to fully shut off the car when I was done. Would that have drained the battery? It doesn't automatically shut off? Engine was not on during any of this.

And this is just a guess, I may have turned it off. Not sure but just going through scenarios

You should try to charge the battery and hopefully you just left something on and that will rectify the problem going forward. If you charge it and you still find yourself having problems, the battery could be bad. People don't believe this, but battery technology hasn't changed significantly in the last 50 years. It's still many times cheaper for the industry to produce an item with an initial failure rate of 10% and an in warranty failure of 30% than it is to change the technology. In other words, the product is so inexpensive to produce as is compared to any increase of reliability that it's cheaper for them to just keep giving you new batteries.

You'll know if you've left it on by replacing the battery and all the dash lights are already one before even touching the start button. I've had customers come in swearing they've turned the car off and find out they didn't.
