I've seen eBay plastered with used Denso ballasts in the sub-$100 range, whereas last I checked, a new headlight assembly is $1000+
heres one way to do it, which imo its a lot more work than required:

its not hard to replace. i did it a much easier way:

IXI187IXI and Broncosi, thanks for the tremendous help. I'll give this a go over the weekend if we don't get rained out by Tropical Storm Joaquin.

Where on the east coast are you? I'm on my phone and can't see.

I cancelled my weekend pseudo vacation because of this stupid hurricane. I'm in Wilmington NC so it might get interesting.

Oh man, that stinks. I'm in the greater NYC area; the latest reports say we might just get away with heavy rain. Hope it doesn't get too interesting down there!

Default Thanks guys found great deal on D4S bulbs.

I replaced the bulbs and the issue is gone.

I actually found a great deal on bulbs from TheRetrofitSource.com. $5.00 for a pair of Morimoto 3Five DS4 bulbs 4300k. Below is a link. I found them and ordered what i thought was 4, one pair for now and one pair for later... but i didnt read the fine print. it was a pair of them for $5.00 so I now have 3 extra pair. i will put one in the IS350 as well those bulbs are hitting 8 years old at this point as well, and save the other 2 for now.

If you are looking for a pair to have for emergency or even if you need some, I would snap them up, you cant even get the crap from China for that price.
