Default Noisy DWS Conti tires

I have 30K miles on my DWS Continental tires. They have become very loud and noisy. I was told they have 'flats' or 'spots' on the tire wear that is causing the noise.

Curious if anyone else has experienced this same issue.

Time to go back to either Bridgestone or Michelin.

Any comments would be appreciated.

typical. I have much fewer miles on my DWS and they were a bit noisier than others to start with.

I attribute the noise to the tread pattern of the tire.

But I knew that when I bought them. They were some of the cheaper tires I could buy, pretty high mileage (though I doubt I'll get 50000 out of them), had very good wet traction rating, so I decided I could live with any future noise by turning up the radio.

My previous OEM dunlop summer tires wore out quick!

I've read like 2-3 complaints on here so far about the DWS continentals so far. I've had great experience with the continental purecontact tires. They reached 50k and still have meaty tread on them like I bought them the first day. I'm not on factory suspension and I haven't had any camber adjustments to fix it. I've since swapped out the wheels for new 20s and have nothing but complaints for these fairly new (but free) falken azenis'.

You shouldn't have uneven wear on your tires. That indicates that your suspension is failing. Take it to your dealer and have them take a look at it and they should tell you the struts have gone if anything...... How many miles do you have?

MY continentals aren't super noisy, but they're a teeny bit noisier than the dunlops I had before, or the Turanzas equipped on the loaner cars. The dunlops were KILLER on the friggin price! Atop that they wore out sooo quick I barely got 20k out of them . They were great all around though lol...... I do agree that with DWS treading, you have a trade off of traction vs snow.

I have DWS 06's and these things are super quiet IMO, but also, I only have like 2500k miles on them so it may be too soon to tell

I have the DW, and bought them after reading some good reviews, they were really good and after 2 summers, they're getting noisy, probably good for another summer by the looks of it, gonna back to my hankook's or maybe gonna try bridgestone.

When I switched over to aftermarket toyo proxes, I was amazed how super quiet these things were coming from the DWS stockers. It was loud and was glad I switched them out.

are there ANY tires that aren't loud when they're worn down?

You guys talk about different brand new tires being quiet, but that's not a fair comparison to some worn out DWS

If you have chobby tires and you have a 2wd GS, you can do a burn out and that will help round them out and quite them down.

Pirelli CINTURATO P7 ALL SEASON PLUS

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....7ASP&tab=Specs

These tires have the best rating for ride and noise.

Proxes T1R... I've looked into hankooks and read other reviews on other forums (Evos/M3's), after a while they become problematic like road noise, chunks coming off, and cracked sidewalls. People love them cause of their prices, last time I checked it was $99 per tire (235/35/19) on tirerack.com.

I originally wanted michelin pss just cause of its thread life & low-noise level and be baller-status but $220 per tire turned me off. Lol... So I met halfway and went with toyos. Same reviews as pss but at a lower price tag at $125 ~ 150. I drive my car hard but never had the time to hit the tracks due to work and school. I've laid 14k miles since new and I have no complaints. It's a win/win imo. Thought to share my review...

People who buy $99 tires don't look far enough. If the $99 tires are failing earlier and blowing chunks and making noise, that's no different than buying more expensive tires that last longer and come with tread warranty.

I just looked at the Proxes T1R, and those are summer tires with low tread life.
rated 280.

My GS is no sports car, so I'm perfectly happy with the balance of all season low profile tires with good tread life like the DWS.

The DWS has nylon in its tread, when you first drive in the mornings the tires feel out of balance until you reach a block or two thats when the nylon warms up and becomes more round.

This is what the rep from continental told me after acquiring of unbalance in my tires when I first purchased the tires.
