Default 06 GS300. Repair or sell?

I've got an 06 GS 300 AWD w 136k miles on it that I took to Toyota to get checked out. Attached is what they found. I'm trying to decide whether or not its worth to get all these repairs done or not or to just sell/trade it [$8700 trade value]

any suggestions !?

Don't let dealer prices scare you into a new car. You could get all that work done much cheaper.

I have the same mileage on my 06, brought it to lexus for the recall and came out with an $8,900 price quote!
Shop around, I have had almost all my service work done at tires plus for a fraction of dealer prices. And if you can do any of it yourself, you'll save alot more.

ASE certified is what you should look for

First off, you are not going to get $8700 for it the way it is. Your looking at maybe $6K trade or $7K-$8K private sale. I see a whole set of KYB shocks online on Ebay for about $415. The shocks aren't hard to do. Most shops can change them. Stay away from the stealership!!!

Get an estimate from a private, yet reliable shop and install coils.

I'm going to take it to another private mechanic and see what he thinks. I've read about the 06 transmission issues and am just worried about dropping all this money now.

$8700 is the cash offer I have from an autotrader buying dealer.

Also how much should I look into paying for the shocks? And if
I'm changing the front left , should I also do the right /all 4?

Shock installation only usually around 100-150. Brand new shocks can be around 400-500 depends where u bought it.

Yeah, definitely look at other shops to fix the suspension issues and buy the parts online somewhere for a fraction of dealer pricing. You could probably find the parts, have them installed, and re-aligned for under 1k. It would be worth the extra few bucks to do all 4 corners at once.

The seals you should be able to do yourself - most of that cost is probably just labor (I haven't done them on the GS yet, but most other cars I've done are just tedious work).

The shops are having a little bit of trouble finding after market shocks and cv boots/axle assembly for my GS.

I'm pretty sure 07-11 GS parts work with the 06 . can someone confirm?

For the rear, awd and rwd are the same.
For the front you probably won't be able to find any for awd. That was the problem I ran into. Get front struts for an 07 IS250.

There is a whole thread on this recently with some good info, you should check that out

Here's the cheapest I've found

Front Struts $204

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-GS300-AWD-Left-Front-Shock-Strut-Absorber-NEW-genuine-Lexus-OEM-48520-80185-/171116928318?hash=item27d75d1d3e&vxp=mtr
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-GS300-A...item27d75d36d3

Rear Stuts $163
http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200..._assembly.html

Front Right CV Axle $97

http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/200..._assembly.html

Total Parts ~$460 , Total Labor ~$550
= Total $1000

Am I overpaying?

For all 4 struts and a cv axle that's not bad imo

This is a 2006 GS 300, therefore you need this third option: Scrap.
