Default Thought a speaker was blown

Whenever I cranked the stereo a little, I would hear a rattling from the front passenger door speaker. Turns out it's the window switch panel that is slightly loose. Any ideas how to tighten this up?

You would have to remove the door panel to access the screws that hold it in place. It's not to difficult, there are two hidden screws then clips. Check out utube there are some pretty good videos on it

Dang. For just that little black panel with the window switch on it?

I might pop it out and 'expand' the clips holding it in. If that doesn't work I'll try putting some tape on it to pad it and hopefully tighten the seat without making it stick up off the wood piece.

There's nothing you can just pop out, and no clips to expand. It's held in with screws and the only way to tighten is to remove the door panel, sorry bud

No worries. I will get to work on it later and check the status of the screws possibly being loose.

Thanks!

No problem man. Let me know if you need guidance. I've had mine out several times, and it can be a little tricky, overall not to heard.

Ok awesome. Thank you! I will probably hold off for now and maybe conquer this next weekend.

EDIT: Now I see what you were talking about. The door wasn't that hard to take off other than one stubborn clip. Once I had it off, I unscrewed the window panel and put some double sided tape on the contact locations that were hidden underneath the wood part and screwed it back in tight. So far, so good! No more vibrations from it.

Thanks for your help!

So my rubber guide that ran along the window on my driver side was tucked down at one section. I removed the panel to lift it back up. When I was putting the panel back on, I apparently didn't have all of the retaining plastic pins lined up correctly and thus two completely shattered. Any idea where I could get a few of these for less than $20/per from Lexus?

My 06 GS430 has the exact same problem of the passenger window switch rattling.

Yeah, nix my idea. It may have stopped the window switch from rattling but there is a lot more rattling on the door panel still. I would have to essentially dynomat the entire door to make it stop. I'll just turn up the music for now.

Just shove pieces of foam and cut up old black socks and stuff everywhere, it's the easiest cheapest way to quiet the beast... use a credit card to wedge stuff in between the seams.

I gave up on the rattles pretty much years ago, and just accept I am now driving an old car.

So you bought some black foam and put it around the windows switch?
