Should I Buy The 08 GS460?!
Hello all,
I Just found out that my Lexus Dealership just got an 08 Silver GS460 With ~52k on it.
I currently have an 11 GS350 AWD. but it has 93k on it. (High mileage driver)
Here's my predicament. I live In Wisconsin. Wisconsin has snow. RWD cars don't enjoy snow too much. If its going to be marginally faster then I'll just look at something else with AWD.
Is it worth Picking up?
I don't want to buy the car and have it tank in value.
I'm also a bit apprehensive about the difference in the equipment in the car (USB, AUX, Bluetooth audio) I'm sure there are aftermarket solutions to fix these issues but I'm not sure what I have to do and how well its going to integrate with the car.
Please Advise!!

I can only speak from what I know and that's RWD 350s....but they can hang with the 460s...the 460 is .2 faster to 60...two runs...same day...southeast USA...at the end of the 1/4 mile is where the 460 will put some distance between the two.
I'd keep the 2011...

given your location and weather condition, I personally would keep the awd gs350. the gs460 are RARE.. you do not run into them so much and only so much of them are made... if you are rich i'd get the gs460 and a awd suby and call it a day that is if the gs460 and gs350 is a big night and day difference..
I like the lexus enform technology, if you go 2008 you will lose the easy Bluetooth media streaming capabilities etc. I am running a Bluetooth device that allows me to stream Bluetooth audio through my aux port on my 2008.
do you want to ride in comfort and style all year long.. or only during dry times of the year?

I guess looking at other threads I should be fine in the winter with snow tires and my Wisconsin winter driving experience. I went and drove it and the ride seems to be more smooth than the AWD GS i have. The Mark Levinson stereo is also very nice but I didn't hear too much of a difference. Its obvious but the 460 does have quite a bit more "pick up" than the 350 I own. Plus the v8 sounds awesome..
I get different cars every twoish years so a big factor for me is having the car somewhat hold its value. I'm at a fantastic equity position right now and have been with my last 3 cars. I would like to keep it that way.
My biggest concern now is getting the right amount of money for my car and getting the car to a low enough price.
I would have to look into Getting an extra set of rims for the snow tires.
Does anyone have any experience with any of the Vaistech bluetooth stuff??? I was looking into putting that in and was curious as to how it would integrate.

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to keep my 2011. Its not a smart decision now that I've taken time and the feed back from you guys to think about it.
Thanks to everyone that posted.

There's one thing that will really annoy you in the 460. And that's how eratic the gear changes are.. it's got 8 speed and most of the times, the car can't decide which gear it wants to be in! I hate the delay in downshifting especially.
That may be an important factor in cold and snowy weather.
