Default GS 300, What Transmission ?

Im thinking of buying a gs300 2006. Im just wondering what transmission is used in this car ? We have a RX 400h in the family so i was thinking it may be the same transmission ? or do the hybrid models have some kind of special transmission ? it seems to be just 1 gear don't feel or hear the changes at all

Also anything else to look out for on this particular model ?

Thanks

Just get a 2007 or newer GS 350. 50 more HP and the same real world fuel economy.
Forget the 300.
Bad motor.
Carbon Buildup.
Burns Oil Early And Often.
Transmission is ok in all GS's, it's a 6 speed auto with sequential shift, just like everything else. Nothing special, but seems to be reliable, even in AWD guise.

Hybrids have a eCVT transmission. If you would like the same type of transmission it is in the GS450H. Don't look for fuel economy in that model as the hybrid system is tuned for performance. I do see 25-26MPG in my 450h, which I think is good for a car of this stature.

As the above poster mentioned steer clear of the 2006 gs300 as there are many members with problems with that particular model.

Gs350= 6spd
Gs430= 6spd
Gs460= 8spd
GS450H= eCVT (similar to your rx400H)

Mark -

Before you purchase that '06 GS 300 -do a search on transmission problems or Code: P2757 Torque Converter Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Performance
