"CHECK VSC" and "CHECK VGRS"

I have a 2006 GS 430. I have been receiving these to messages off and on for about week. Just took it to shop and they informed me I needed a speed sensor (front right wheel) and a ABS Actuator. Total cost out the door would be $4300.00 ARE YOU SERIOUS??? Please help if anyone else has had this issue.

Or you need a roll of black electrical tape for about $4.30. Drive on without them, I say.

I would change the sensor first clear codes and bleed the system first before throwing an abs unit in it
