Default Is anybody getting their fuel filled at the dealer while this recall is getting done?

My dad and I both have GS' so we set up an appointment to have our cars fuel gasket recall done at the same time.
While the service appointment setter was explaining the process she mentioned that Lexus will fill the tank with gas, I decided to reschedule mine for the following Monday because I had JUST filled my tank

My dad got his car back and they didn't fill his.

Are you guys getting gas when the recall is getting done?
Wondering if it needs to be mentioned when the car is brought in.

Thanks

I did, I took it in on fumes and they topped it of when I left. With that being said, the previous recall when they were suppose to fuel it, they didn't. So I think it is hit and miss...

they bill Lexus corp for the fuel as part of the recall. It is not an individual shop choice, it is mandated by Lexus they fill the tank on recall work. I would call and ask why they didn't, especially after they told you they would. I'm sure they included fuel on their bill to Lexus.

Conspiracy Alert! Shop workers may be filling their personal vehicles and submitting as recall fills. Seriously though, if it's true that corporate mandates it, then a phone call is in order, if it's up to the individual dealer, then a thank you note to management will help continue the practice. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Eskridge Lexus of OKC filled my tank when this recall was done. Didn't have to ask.

It is mandated to fill up gas for Lexus services, I had them fill it up on both recalls I've had. Also, 3 of 5 times for oil changes, I asked and they filled it up as well.

they're supposed to fill it.

I got an email from my SA stating they will fill er up.

I will be taking mine in soon. I forget when I first received the recall notice, but it has to be at least a month now. Should be enough time for them to practice on the guinea pigs

Definitely check what octane they're using. I know of at least 1-2 local Lexus dealers who do not use premium/93 octane at their pump.

Multiply that times the number of vehicles, 500 = $1800, 1000 = $3600, 10,000 = $36,000, etc. Times the number of different recalls they may have...... That IS the way to run a successful business both on the local level and corporate level. There's a life saying that I think applies here. "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth." But you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
