Cool 2006 gs300 p0430 cel

Hi. I Did a search on the forum for results for this common code but it had typical banter with no actual common solution to the thread.

So yeah, I have the code. I'm going to check for leaks, going to check O2 readings to ensure the sensors are functioning properly.

My question is for anyone that has had this code. What was your solution? Did you end up patching a leak in the system, vac leak near the intake manifold, replacing an O2 or did you go all the way to the most expensive scenario and replace your cats?

My car mileage is great. Engine idles smooth as butter. But there are a few spots near the mid-pipe that look like Ray Charles welded it with his feet. Definitely some small leaks I can see for sure, which is my assumption for why this code was thrown at me.

Off the subject - have any of you install O2 eliminators?

Well, I ordered some high temp exhaust cement to patch the pin-hole leaks about an inch after the rear O2 sensors.

I'll do this on sat morning and let people know what happens. The rest of the exhaust system seems impeccable.

Leaks after the post O2S will not affect anything. I would switch the post O2s clear codes drive around a while and see if the fault switches to the other side.

Going to try it anyway. It's too close to the downstream O2's to not wonder.

So I patched the leak after the downstream O2, drove two cycles and the engine light went off.
