Thinking about getting a GS430
Hello there my names alex. About a year back i bought a 1997 sc300 which treated me great! recently its been running into many problems, being the transmission, so ive decided to move onto a bigger and better car!
Ive been in the market for a GS430 for about 4 months and finally came across one that I really like! So the car is a 2006 GS430, clean title, 2 owners, already have coilovers and rims, Black on Black with immaculate interior and exterior! the only down fall is that it has 170,000 miles. The owner has all the paperwork from services that he has done, and some of the previous owners also, which include the timing belt 30,000 miles ago.
SO my question for you guys is what is a fair price to pay for a car like this? Taking into consideration on the miles?
Thanks ahead of time! and i hope to join the GS family soon!
Sincerely,
Alex

You are about to take a chance on being in the same shape as you were with the SC...find a lower mileage one...but remember...that car is about to be 10 yrs old and has way more things to go wrong than that 97 SC.

This. An SC can potentially last you nearly your entire driving career. Those were the glory days for Lexus quality, and they are much less complex than the 3rd Gen GS. Unless the SC was submerged in the ocean or something, or absolutely thrashed and modded by some backwards baseball cap wearing "pimp", it is worth spending even $10-12K to make it perfect. They really are beautiful cars, and of all the endless gimmickry that has been loaded onto everything from Kias to Ferraris these days, all you really need is a good nav/gps. And your iPhone or iPad can do that better than any factory head end unit anyway.

I have 07 gs350 !
I believe it was the stupid decision i ever made when i decided to buy a lexus.
It has issues in ABS and Traction systems. Read online what are the common problems in gs models.
Simple issue may cause a failure in other systems!
I tried to figure out what causes the Traction light on. There are hundreds of parts i can't replace them all !
The scanner doesn't give the answer all the time.
My last try is to replace the Gas Cap to get it solved..

Just based on mileage alone I wouldn't write off buying the car...gotta look at the price.

If not and if everything is as you say; sounds like a fair deal. If you get it; post pictures of it on here!!
