Need Advice on HID replacement
Hello I just dropped my 2008 GS350 off at my local mechanic for some regular service. My car just hit 100K and I bought the extended warranty so all major parts are covered under dealer warranty but my driver side HID lamp is going out intermittently which usually means it's failing.
My question is if I'm going to replace it should I upgrade from a 4300 to a 6000? I want to get some feedback from those of you that a bad experience with this and seeing if it is worthwhile doing so? If so, can you provide a link on where to buy the bulbs so I can purchase both and get them done at the same time. Any feedback is greatly appreciated and thank you guys for all your help

Both my lights are doing the samething where they go out randomly.... do GS350 come standard with HID's? I just know my lights supposedly turn the directions u are going... what is the OEM?

I had the Garax 6K for about 2 year, ended going back to OEM. I loved the color of the 6K but visibility was definitely lost. I even adjusted headlights a tad higher. Maybe the 5k is a good in between if they are actually make them. I couldn't pass up the deal I was given for the OEM. Prior to me going back to OEM, the vendor (Mod Express) I got my Garax from no longer carried them anymore .

My lights started flickering, I bought a pair of these about a month ago and haven't had any issues:

My lights have had problems for the past couple months. I don't know if I would ever buy cheap ones online again. The cheap ones burned the ballast plug and now I am going through the hassle of replacing the ballast. Lexus quoted me about $1500 for the ballast and labor. The only sell the ballast as a complete headlight assembly. I am hoping my local mechanic can just replace the ballast which was less than $200. I also bought new bulbs that cost $250 for the pair.

Or unplug power from your car to ballast, wire up a D4S LED in place and run that? No more HID's for me, I'll be trying this in a few weeks. I asked Xenon Depot for a set but they don't have D4S size yet, so i'll be using a brand my buddy has been running for 6 months.

D4S Led instead of standard HID bulb? is that even bright enough? I wonder how much lumen it puts out...

The Lights i'm getting to take the place of my D4S HID's are 3200 Lumens per bulb for the 40 Watt LED headlamps.
I Recently ordered/installed 5 LED sets from Xenon Depot which have the braided heat sink for my Wife's Camry, Dads Platinum, and for my GS430 Foglights. I love how these lights don't change color, have 100% brightness at the flip of a switch, and project a cleaner beam pattern.

This is a pic I took of my wife's car and my mothers 2013 Toyota Camry LED low beam/fog lights vs halogen low beam/ fog lights. It's instant 100% brightness, cleaner beam, no ballast, color is a clean white, maybe a slight blue tint. I dig it. Really like how there is no warm up. I'm just a led person too. That's all I have at home, Christmas decor, flashlights, n such. I've installed these n my gs fogs, and my dads 2013 Platinum F150. It's not no huge break through, just another option for lighting.

I've tried various 6K bulbs (generic) D4S bulbs. lighting was about the same but durability was no where close to OE. I have been using JDM Philips 6300K for the past year with no issues. Bright and focus is excellent minus the cost (almost $200 for the pair...)
