Default What does Lexus recommend replacing during timing belt service?

This relates to another thread that many of you have already posted on, so thanks for that.

I'm hoping some of you Lexus mechanics out there can chime in because I really don't know the answer. I get in the car, start the car, and drive the car.

When a Lexus dealer performs a timing belt service, what do they typically recommend that you replace? I know they recommend that you replace the water pump, but anything else? Is there an official Lexus recommendation out there?

Thanks in advance for any help.

This is what should be changed. And only use oem brand which is what this kit has. I am assuming you have a 430 because the v6 have chains

That's a good question for Lexus...all cars ive had ive gotten the timing belt tensioner changed with the belt....cheap insurance...and the next thing would be cam and crank seals if there is any signs of seepage...

Yep...what sam listed...lol

Yeah changing the seals is a good idea but the cam seals will be expensive to change but the crank seal is a no brainer

So did they change the seals? I mean, that's not listed on the invoice either.

Sam -- thanks for the link. I guess what I'm looking for is the official Lexus statement on this. If Lexus officially says the tensioner should be replaced, I want to be able to show them the information when I go in there.

Most seals don't leak till after 150k or more so I would not worry about them

9 years/90k miles. For cam seals the cams have to come out. I don't recall how many hours that calls for.
