I was wondering if anyone else uses the Toyota 0w20 synthetic in their gs. I know the engine oil cap calls for 5w30. But my lexus dealer suggested I use the toyota bulk 0w20 when I asked for a 5w30 synthetic. The newer model gs350 that users the 2grfse asks for the thinner 0w20 so I assume it is OK.

I have been on the 0w20 for a year now and things seem fine, but I am concerned about long term wear if the oil is incorrect.

my gs460 gives me both options… i prefer to use 0w20 recommended by Lexus

Wear wise you should be fine...the only concern I would have with using that in the 350 that's spec'd for 5w-30 is the potential of blow by which in turn means a high chance of deposits forming on the intake valves....might not happen but it is a possibility with the lighter oil....

It says 5w30, I only use 5w30, I would go by the service manual honestly.
