Default should the heating element for seat be covered under CPO?

Weather has just recently gotten cool enough to use the heated seats. I'm almost certain my driver seat isn't heating like it did, even when I have it to the 3 position. I contacted the service department and he's trying to tell me that the CPO warranty would not cover the seat cover and the heating element is built into it so they may not be able to cover that defect. Does anyone have any prior experience with this issue?

Seat covers aren't covered by either CPO or Platinum warranty. I thought the actual heating element was under the actual seat cover...not part of it. I would ask them to show you the parts listing proving that the element is part of the seat cover. If it isn't, then they need to replace it.

Hey thanks for taking the time to check. I understand the seat itself is a trim item and will show wear over time, but if the heating element is not functioning properly I can't see Lexus not covering it. Guess I will find out....

I think they don't want to be on the hook for having to replace the seat cover...that's why they don't want to replace the heating element....
