Default 2008 GS 460 spark plug change HELP! can't get coilpacks out

Hey guys so I am trying to get my spark plugs changed and having a hard time trying to figure out how to get the coil packs out. I have done some research on this forum already but couldnt really find anything solid for the GS 460 specifically. Many people had helpful information on the other GS models (300,350 etc) but since the 460 is not as common, I couldnt really find anything.

I read on the LS460 threads the guys use pry bars to wedge the motor a little to have extra clearance to pull the coil packs out but it seems the LS has a little more room to work with. On the GS 460 however, it is pretty tight and even using a pry bar I really do not believe the coil pack will have room to be remove completely.

I have some pictures attached for you to see exactly what I am talking about.

Has anyone changed spark plugs on a GS 460 specifically?? Thanks in advance!

(Pic 1- this is the driver side of the engine bay and this coil pack in particular is the main one I do not feel can be removed from prying the engine)

(Pic 2- this is another shot of the driver side of engine bay)

(Pic 3- this is the passenger side of engine bay)

Nvm mods can delete thread. I the answer is to remove the rubber seal on the valve cover itself to allow more clearance for coil pack.

does GS460 have the same engine layout as the 430? I just did my spark plugs last week and I didn't have trouble removing the coil packs from driver side. But I did have to remove the battery and fuse box to take out the ones from passenger side.

He wrote that he had to pop off the seal around the coil in order to give him more angle to remove it.

I think you need a second pair of hands, I remember when my cousin changed mine I had to use a long pry bar to wedge the engine to create more room and he pull it out; but I am not a mechanic and can't give you specifics.

Here ya go warandcar hopefully this helps. Hopefully you havent paid someone tons of money yet, it shouldnt be too bad. But if you see in one of my last pics I was able to remove one of the front coil packs out and you can see that there is still a rubber ring/seal sitting on the valve cover so you will have to remove those out to have more clearance for the other plugs. Your battery needs to come out too.
