looking around on the forums doesnt seem like its possible to swap out the drl to led since theyre also the high beams. would it just be a simple HID install, and potentially having shorter life span of the HID?

if you put in leds you will also need to put in the led decoders to make them work correctly, this was the route i went and all is working fine for me

what are these decoders? do you have a diy i can use for this or is it just plug and play?

just found this thread but not sure what is the purpose of the decoder? is it so i have the ability to high beam?

yes my hi beam works plus the led wont flicker since drl run at half power

so i bought the drl leds with the decoder like you mentioned but it looks like the below. what am i supposed to plug into the other socket? when i took out my DRL bulb it was attached to 2 wires, i couldnt remove the bulb. the bulb themselves were part of the wires


do i just connect the two wires to the socket and solder it?

you have LED high beams? i thought once you changed out the bulbs to LED you lose the high beam functionality...

i bought these, basically the leds turn on while driving and when i high beam it gets really bright and i can see the reflection on my garage door for example

Cree Led are the way to go. mine are similar but have small leds around the out side as well so they really light up the whole housing

So the decoders allow high beam functionality with LEDs? Looks like I'll be swapping my DRLs soon! Any comparison with the new CREEs vs stock as far as brightness? I like the LED look, but definitely have to pass if it's not as bright as stock.
