Default What is this unlocking function for? Confused !

I have a GS300, on page 23 of the owner's manual, it can program 4 modes of unlocking.

I had the smart key programmed to unlock all the doors at one unlocking press.

So what is this page telling us ?

Its doing just what it says, when you walk up to the car and put your hand inside of the door handle there are 4 different unlocking modes. Or you could press the unlock button on the keyfob but why go thru all of that when the car unlocks itself when you try to open a door. Personally I never take the keyfob out of my pocket to lock or unlock the car.

So if your doors are unlocking the way you want don't play with those settings.

Thank you.

I just realised, after I had the remote/handle grab unlocking to unlock all the doors, this option can no longer be performed.

^ are you sure?

Usually when you touch driver door handle, only driver door unlock. But touch any other handle and all doors unlock.

The delay on unlocking the door sometime annoyed me. Pull on the door hand it hasn't unlock yet, have to pull or tap on the handle twice more to activate it's unlock. Faster if I use the fob to unlock while walking up to the car.

Yes, I am sure i had programmed it using a 3rd Party ODBII MONGOOSE cable and PC based Toyota scantool software.

This is where most personalized settings could be changed.
