If you rotate every 5k and your tires wear down perfectly even at the same time you will have to buy 4 new tires.

I just don't see the money savings. Especially if you take into consideration the cost of rotating tires at a shop every 5k miles.
i never understood this either as most tires are directional so you can only swap front to back on the same side of the car. imo not worth the hassle.

For the GS I would do a staggered setup for the car.

20x9 + 38
20x10.5 + 45

245/30/20
275/30/20

Keep in mind with a square fitments 20x9 will not a give deep concave

it really comes down to what you desire
With this wheel and tire setup, how much does the rims face stick out past the tires side wall?

I'll be running pretty much a non staggered setup later on. Same size wheel and tire. We'll see how this goes But then again, I'm the ugly duckling out of the 3gs community. haha.

Check the wheel thread. That's where i got tons of good information from 70-80 pages of various looks with different offsets and tire combos. Then, I hit up rominl for some pointed questions that he was happy to answer. Do your homework first so you get a good idea of what you want to accomplish.

Do not recommend 10.5 in the front unless you plan on severe modifications.

Totally depends on the offset and tires.

Schmexus, if running a square setup what would be the ideal offset and tire size for the front to prevent severe modifications?
