Dash rattle!!!
Just completed the dash rattle quick fix I found here on the forum. Here is the breakdown:
quote from dealer to take apart dash-$800
Cost for 4 9"x12" pieces of felt- $1.16
Time of repair- 15 mins
Cost of happiness for no more dash rattles- PRICELESS!!!!
Thanks everybody for the tips, worked brilliantly and only cost me fifteen minutes and one dollar and sixteen cents.

I just let it rattle. It's an old car anyway.
And one thing I've wondered is- when you create all that tension by stuffing felt behind the dash, will the clips that hold the dash become looser as time passes....
You might be warping the clips or something

It doesn't, metal expands over time and yes, it will warp, but the felt will just compensate enough so that the clips do not rattle.
If you do indeed have dash rattle pman, I'd be totally all about putting felt inbetween to get rid of it.

I cut them into 2-21/2 wide strips, keeping the 12 inch length. Used a plastic putty knife I bought from Home Depot for like .99 cents did 2 layers and now there is no noise at all. I'm also from Michigan, so my roads are absolutely horrible, prob the worst in the country. And you can't even see the felt I shoved in...
