New tires: Continental Control Contact Sport (w/ pics)
So after about 20k miles my Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires started to have unusual wear. Typically when the center wears faster than the shoulders, it is due to overinflation, but that was not the case here. I meticulously check inflation every time I wash my car. I also rotated them every 6-7k miles. My alignment is fine and struts are fine. Despite the poor wear, I have loved them. At 28k miles, I decided they were not safe to drive on as I travel a lot in my car.
Come to find out, the Continental ExtremeContact DWS are being discontinued and their replacement is the Control Contact Sport (http://www.discounttire.com/infocont...ctsportas.html)
So I decided to give them a try. Discount tire offered me some money back for my DWS so what the hell...
From the display...
I'll report back after my first rotation.
****Just completed first rotation at 7500 miles. Still smooth as baby's **** and quiet as can be. No issues whatsoever. Love these tires.*****

looks great~!! This happened to me as well where my Goodyear had uneven tread marks. After discussing with Goodyear, discovered that my tires came with factory warranty where they replacement all four tires @ a discount. Just love factory warranty.

I had the same thing happen to my DW's but at around 30k. In the market for new tires myself. Currently on Falken Azenis pt722 or something like that. There ok but a bit noisy now. I liked the conti DW's. Would like to know about these new conti's.

I have Continental DWS AS on my 2008 GS 350 and they seem to be making a lot of noise esp. at higher speed. Anyone with same issue? Are Control Contacts much better? Any recommendations? -Thanks

Holy wow, looks great! I'm @ 20k now, with my PureContact DWS (w/ DWS indicators) still decently quiet (same road noise as it had since day 1, which is normal as I have a picky ear). Tire wear on it is great, and the car's still got all the D W and S indicators on the tire.

Last season I had the DW tires, although they're quiet and comfortable they were a tad too soft for spirited cornering and grip in the wet was alright. Now I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 and the difference is significant, much better than the DW.

think I will try other tires after this. I think this DWS have too much grip, I get only 22mpg.
