Default Wife Strikes Again

While I'm out traveling in Dallas this week, my wife decided to drive over a parking block and pull the front bumper away from the car. Does this look like a DIY fix with just some bent hangars or more serious. I'm headed home today and will probably pull off the bumper and dig deeper. Let me know what you guys think. Last time she'll be driving my car, ever.

probably tore a few tabs but you should be able to get it back on cosmetically w/o major problem. I suggest taking entire bumper skin off first to assess each tab (as I recall it's ~ 15 bolts total). Plus, makes it easier to re-install and get everything lined up correctly...

See attached for removal instructions / bolt locations.

Good luck

Yes I agree with BurgBoxstr probably broke the clips but I would check the tabs and the bottom of the bumper as it could be cracked underneath.

That's just gonna cause him to lose the car, a partner in the bed, and half his bank account .

In all seriousness, it doesn't look too bad....

Haha.. Not laughing at YOU, just a conversation I had with my wife the other day.. I'll be showing these photos to her, which should make her understand why I don't let her drive my car!!

Got everything back 'on'. Drivers side took the grunt of it with torn fender liner, slight bend in the plastic, and a cracked upper tab, two completely broken lower tabs that connect to the engine cover. Definitely some precarious connections around that corner but after two days of highway driving everything seems to be holding firm other than a slightly larger gap under the headlight.

make sure the inner fender liner is secured properly. if it has a slight gap, it'll get sucked into the tire at hwy speeds. Mostly appears to be artificial.

LOL at ROE and Tex! I've only had my Lexus a short while. I have trained my wife well regarding oil/engine lights...sounds....curbs....etc but she has yet to drive it! I brag all the time how well her 2012 Honda Accord rides to steer her away from any ideas! LOL! She will eventually drive it but like a 16-year old with a drivers permit....I will be sitting in the passenger seat sweating my but off!

Ouch! This is the main reason I do not like anyone else driving my GS400. That curb will come up and bite you if you park too close!

why I don't let my wife drive my car. It's hard enough keeping her RX clean and damage free.
