Default 2007 GS430 or keep 2007 GS450h

According to the Lexus model library, the 2007 GS430 has a different version of the V8 compared to the previous year and I want to know if it has a timing belt or timing chain. I'm just asking as I'm considering trading in my GS450h. Really no particular reason other than I think it'll be cheaper to maintain in the long run. Currently, KBB valued my car at what it would take to pay it off on the GS430 I'm looking at has 70k miles compared to 63k on my car. Any info additional info or comments on the 2007 GS430 year model would be appreciated.

Very tricky questions, it depends on how long you are going to keep the car for, if it is just for a few years, I would stay with 450h .

You maintain the GS430 just like it's previous years....

Rear diff fluid every 30k or so miles, trans fluid every 90k, timing belt @ 90k......

Yes, with the battery banks and etc, you are looking at a better breaking point in service interval.

The engine in the GS 430 is the same engine that was in the 2GS 430 a little refined but mostly the same.

Yep! What bigblack06 said.... Take the late LS430 engine and slap it on a 3gs.... LITERALLY what it is

Thanks for the info. I plan to go check out the car this weekend. It seems that the GS430 will be lower maintenance in the long run. Search the forums its seem a 90k to 100k mile service will cost about $1500 compared to $5k or more to replace the battery pack if its out of the 8yr 100K mile warranty.

I'm at 10k since my 90k service, and the car still feels like new, gears shift 100% smooth, engine still purrs like day 1, there's literally zero problems with the vehicle as I plan to keep this car for a loooooong time.

I would try and find a GS 460 if you can.
