Default 2007-2009 gs350 awd - way cheaper???

I'm shopping around and keep coming across the AWD model for THOUSANDS and tens of thousands less miles than the like model 350 RWD even being up to a year newer… Should I know something about this AWD car that is causing the value not to stay up to snuff with other Lexus Models?

Thank you.

Well the AWD costs more new, and is valued higher used (bank loan value). If the RWD is pricier "on the street" it would be because it's rarer. Personally I wanted RWD and almost bought one out of TX. Main thing was I had to have the Levinson audio, and when this one turned up as a perfect one owner minty example, I jumped on it even though it's AWD. Has come in handy in crap weather at least, and the rearward bias to the AWD is nice. I've had no issues related to the AWD. I'd like the RWD for lighter weight and ease of lowering though.

MX5 hit it right there.... RWD lighter, and it doesn't get wobbling problems when lowered. AWD transmissions are just another maintanence piece also. Don't forget to factor in that AWD cars waste more gas mileage, this is probably the lower resale value of that car. I didn't know though, that they cost more NEW and valued higher used in bank loan values though, great fact MX5!

I've noticed that cars that require either one of the two contributes to much lower resale value, I can name a few examples from my perspective:

A) Car requiring more maintanence intervals or more expensive maintanence parts.

B) Cars that just flat-out waste more gas.

There's a reason why MB and BMW cars resale values point lower than with Lexus vehicles (I'm not bashing, just hit up your local Auto trader for comparable models to our lineup, you should pretty bad depreciative value on their part).

Also, look at the v8 models and hybrids, or the models that happen to have more recalls and etc. They fall a bit lower than their counterparts.

Hope this helps answer your questions

Premium or lack thereof on price for the AWD likely depends on if you live in a snowy region.

If I lived in the snowy north, I'd be looking for an AWD and be willing to pay extra for it.
