Default GS 350 Collision in Columbus

I just got rear-ended by a Toyota Tundra while I was at a complete stop and the force sent my car into the car in front of me.
The reare bumper is cracked but does not look terrible.
The drunk won't close.
The rear doors make strange metal on metal sound when they open and close.
My front end after hitting the Nissan Rogue in front of me tell the story.
I am leaking something either from the radiator or engine oil (clear, slick, and odorless though it is wicked cold outside) so I am not driving the car and will have to have it towed.

Question: Germain Lexus of Easton (where I go to for service) sends their collision work to an outside, independent company (Germain Collision in Powell) - anyone have any experience there?
Is this my best bet at getting my car back to "normal?" Thanks!

I'd be shocked if your insurance company didn't total that with front and rear damage, hood and trunk munched, and rear doors don't close....

Totally agree. I'd expect the car to be totaled. Rear and front damage. Whole body of the car probably moved as your door cannot close. This will create overlapping and gaps. Sorry to hear, good thing you are ok.

Same here... Those headlights alone are $2k MSRP.... Everytime you touch a LEXUS, it's a thousand here and there.

GL!

Thanks - yes, I think I took the being ok part for granted.
Honestly, as I saw that huge white massive front off tundra closing in on me, my first thought was, "oh...this will not end well..." but now it is more the annoyance than anything.
As a 2010 with 41K miles on it (still under warranty) - I will be sad to see this go.

Do you think it is better to have it considered "totaled" and lose some money or better if the adjustor decides it is ok to fix it up. Do these cars ever behave the same?
The rear doors close...but definitely do not feel or sound the same. The trunk (once opened) did not close). Thanks, everyone.

Glad you are OK.

From the damages you've described, especially the rear door noises...i hope they total that car out. Sounds like damage to the frame.

That's going to end up written off. The front end is jokes and any real body shop would be able to bang that out in 3-4 days time with paintwork.

The fact that the rear doors are making noise and rubbing means that your quarter panels buckled... they need to be either; cut & replaced, or pulled back depending on how severe the read end damage is.

I suggest you take this opportunity to start looking at new cars...

I'll give you $200 for your side view mirrors if you feel like taking them off. :-)

At least you're ok. I think the guys above are correct, that car will be written off.

Not that he admitted...but he was apologetic for the event.
I am STILL waiting for the Nationwide adjustor to call me to come out and see the vehicle.
I get to drive Chrysler 300 for the short term...joy.

By written off, I assume you mean totaled? I hope the adjustor agrees.

If the car is totaled, I recommend this option. Try to sell a few parts.

Yes. Then it will end up at the auction block, online & in person at a Manheim auction
