I went from a 01 GS 430 to a 09 GS460. Loved the styling of the 01 but love the extra power of the 09. Also get better MPG with the 8speed gearbox. I can run up to Dallas at 80 mph and get 29 mpg. Great cars.

I have had a 2001 IS300 automatic, and currently drive a 2002 IS300 Built Turbo Manny. However as I have grown old in my age I have to commute for work about 46 miles round trip a day with a 3 year old and a 8 month old. I would like to move into a 3rd gen GS AWD and perform no upgrades just make it a solid daily driver for all weather year round. I will be selling the Turbo IS300 to make room for the 3rd gen. (Don't fret as I will also be building on a mkiv Supra for track day, slash date night).

My question posed is this, is it worth saving the few extra bucks on a lower milage GS300 2006? Or did that first model have to many issues - should I just move into an 07,08,09 etc?.

I do all my own work on 2jz-ge and 2jz-gte motors, so I am not to concerned about what I would have to put into it. If i can save the $ i would put it towards the MKIV. Just would like to hear the + and - 's of the years. I do like this new 4th gen but for now its out of the price range i would like to spend.
