Smile Sensor?
On my 2009 GS350 AWD there is a sensor under the third brake light (the brake light in the rear window). It almost looks like a camera. Does anyone know what this is?

I think this is the light sensor that helps adjust the brightness of the gauges under different conditions

Yes, it is the sensor that changes your gauge cluster's amount of electrochromic blue tint applied to reduce glare from the bright sun!
