Just had mine scheduled for friday morning. They are having an inspector look at the bolts, if they're backing out or if there's any sign of issue they'll proceed with the new parts or fix. So with that said call your dealers, service advisor said they are making calls already. Keyes Lexus 2007 GS 350.

Just got off with Lexus Corp. My VIN isn't part of the cam gear "recall". So , i have to bring it in to Lexus, let them diagnosis it, then contact lexus corp again to proceed with the work being done and seek compensation. I really really hate the gs300 2006. I should've just got an 07 or 08 ha ha.

Ours is going in tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. Going to take all day, so they're giving me a 13 ES to drive until Wednesday. I just might stop by tomorrow afternoon and have a look at what they're doing.

Just got my car back after the recall work. Here is a snippet of what was done. Total labor is 8.7 Hrs but that was with an oil change.

I have a feeling im going to have a problem with Highland Park Lexus in IL.
Im going to call again tomorrow and see if they know anything about this recall. Since the last 2x's ive called they seem to give me the run around.

Did you wait till you got the letter in the mail?

Question, now, sometimes i rarely hear the sound at a cold start up. What else should I mention for them to check/know im referring to the Cam Gears? Or should I simply say, check my cam gears? Sorry if this sounded dumb.

No. When I brought the car in for an oil change, my service rep notified me about the recall.

Question, did they top off your gas? I know some recalls have that included, curious so I can bring her in low. lol.

Lol yea they do, I did the same exact thing. Try to go in the morning because they have the new IS for loaner vehicles.

How come this wouldn't cover the GSh? Isn't it the same as the GS/IS350?

Mine went in this morning and yes, they're going to fill up the tank - said its part of doing the recall. I guess since they're keeping it all day, they want to compensate you for your inconvenience. They gave me a 2013 ES350 loaner. Even in sport mode, it is not a GS by any stretch of the imagination. It does have some cool features, but I think the interior materials in my 08 are better.

Hope this clears up our occassional start up noise. The service advisor noticed it as well when she drove it into the service bay..

Should be getting the GS back sometime tomorrow.

Yeah, my car does not leak oil, its burning oil for some odd reason. There isnt a drop anywhere near where i park and never has been. This is the first time since ive owned the car that ive noticed it consuming oil. I assume that is why the car almost shut off? I am no mechanic, but we will figure it out i guess..

What type of oil do you use?

Also, I will probably make a call next week to schedule an appointment for this annoying rattle.

Again, this MIGHT be my last purchase from lexus.. Unless an LFA is easily obtained in the event of a new financial plan I have. I have noticed a lot of Lexus's pop up lately around my area, which im not too fond of either lol looks like its time to mod!

My dealer in SoCal told me that a "remedy for the recall" is still not out yet. And a local dealer should contact you via mail when a "remedy" has been found. Not all Lexus dealerships has been trained to deal with the recall yet unfortunately. Well if something bad happens to anyone regarding the recall, you should be able to sue and get a brand new GS.
