After my GS starts I hear a weird noise for a second then it stops and I only hear it after the car has been sitting for over a hour or two. Any idea?

going to need a little more information. everyone's definition of "weird noise" is going to be different.

where is it coming from? what does it sound like? 06 300 correct?

Yes it is 06 300. I haven't located the source of the noise but its under the hood. I would say it sounds like a combination of a slight grind and the noise you make when you try to start your car after its already been on.

yes... it sounds like we might know what this is. i have a 430 so ill let someone with a 300 explain.

Ha funny you say this. Mine is doing the same thing. And it only does it after if sits for awhile. I thought it was suppose to make that noise. I have an 06.

Any chance OP can record the sound on video and upload it so we can hear it? It's 2013, everyone should either have a smart phone or a phone capable of this weird noise.

ABS pump maybe. Try pressing repeatedly on your brakes and see if you hear it again.

ok ok, I'll play nice. It's funny everyone thinks we can guess what sound it is by not providing us with anything. Even with the sound some times it's hard to ID.

My car is in for the engine recall. Hopefully this will fix the issue.

I would sign the vehicle up for the engine recall at your local dealer, most likely they will rebuild your engine for you for free.

thats the first thing i was thinking too but he says its a 300. i thought that was only a problem with the 350s?

I have the same noise myself. I also hear it when it has been sitting outside for a while. I am starting to worry though, my 07 'GS is nearing the 100k mark. If this were a TSB issue, is a warranty required for the work of a TSB to be done? I am thinking about taking it to Lexus to get it looked at when I do my oil change. Thanks in advance.
