Default Looking to replace my GS350 AWD, Suggestions?

I sold my 2007 Lexus GS350 AWD this morning and am looking for a replacement. After having owned a 400 before, I miss the V8's power, torque, and noise. For any of you 430/460 owners, what has your experience been with reliability? I had so many issues with the 350's engine, valve springs, cam gears, water pump, rough idle etc. I think the 430's are bullet proof but what of the 460?

Also thinking about switching to the dark side and getting an Infiniti M45. Its hard not to at least consider when it has 335 horespower. Thoughts?

LS460. I had a GS350 and stepped up to the LS. They are amazing and when you drive it you will feel like your GS is a lesser Lexus for sure. The LS is numb and silent. The V8 and 8 speed tranny is awesome too.

I am definitely sticking with the GS. I have a 2006 GS300 that I have had for almost 8 years. I have never been in for any warranty work only a few recalls, i am still on the original battery. The only things that have been replaced are HID bulbs and front and rear brake pads. This is the best auto that I have owned. My next auto will be a GS and by the way things are going it might be the GEN 5 GS.

Could always look into an ISF if you are looking for a more sporty vehicle too. Any guidelines you are trying to follow? I mean would you like something a little bigger, same size, etc.?

The only guidlines I have are sporty, four doors, and reliable. I'll probably steer clear of european cars because the maintenence and upkeep is too high. I thought the GS350 would fit the bill comming out of a GS300/GS400, however my 350 was one of the least reliable cars i've ever owned. I've been researching the IS-F and seems like they havent really had any issues. I sort of like the look and size of the m45, havent driven one but its gotten good reviews. I think the LS460 probably isnt sporty enough for what I want to accomplish. I'm leary to try another 3rd Gen GS but would consider the 430/460.

What were the issues you had? I mean was the car brand new with a spotless record for maintenance and other problems and continued to break? My bias comes from a family that is primarily Toyota/Lexus, and very few problems, other than self inflicted ones (Mom got rid of her Camry after a head on collision and so on). I really think that there are vehicles that no matter how hard you try they are just going to break, others that seem to run forever regardless of what is done or not.

I personally would consider the 460 or the ISF (waiting for someone I know to decide to sell hers). I like the V6 but thinnk that the trade offs for the V8 are more than worth it. Just my opinion.

I'm in the same exact boat 98gs430. I finally sold my 98 gs 400 yesterday and wept as the new owner drove off to Phoenix on I 10 east from Palm Springs CA , Although i was in my Is 250 and tried catching up almost at 90 mph +'s, but I just couldn't as the gs 4 just kept gaining grounds effortlessly till it be came a tiny spec over the hills. Any way out of frustration I went back home and pulled out my new 2007 gs 350 awd purchased early this month and got further depressed as I drove the car . don't get me wrong now guys , the car is beautiful internally and exteriorly" but the torque and power isn't just there.
I came home after driving it and was forced to start searching for a gs 460 for sale, online and here . My wife unfortunately doesn't just understand why I'm obsessed with Gs 4. And she's really not thrilled with idea of my looking into buying Gs 460 .
On a lighter note , I called the new owner of the Gs 4 to check up on him and see how his trip went , and he told me he got 2 speeding tickets on way to Phoenix, he couldn't just believe how smooth the gs 4 98 handled on the road and didn't realize how fast he was driving ........lol .

Anyway I went back to wifey and said u see what I've been talking about?

I moved up from an 01 gs 430 to an 09 gs 460. No regrets. Love the extra MPG i get with the 8 speed.

Wife has an 05 LS 430. A very sweet ride but definitely more of the luxury car than the sports car. Stick with the V8 and you can not go wrong.

IS 350's flat fly, TL's are nice...All the mags recommend the M35 over the 45.
