Aggressive sounding exhaust, not many options for my GS350!
Well this car is waayy too quiet for me, I feel like I'm driving my brothers Camry and looking for a more aggressive sound from this amazing machine. It seems from searching these forums that we have very few choices when it comes to exhaust systems for this car, not even JoeZ or ISS Forged makes an exhaust system for our cars. I had an HKS on my 350Z and I loved the sound, it made a nice deep growl for a V6. Maybe someone can help narrow down my choices.
Here's what I've seen or read so far:
Tanabe: I've heard a few videos and read comments and frankly the exhaust is only axleback and too quiet for me. Also pretty expensive.
Top Speed: Only axleback but when I heard it with Invidia Mid pipes I kind of like the sound. Concerns are the quality and fitment of this piece.
M2: Same as Topspeed.
Megan: I really like the burnt tips on this exhaust but I can't find any videos or comments on this exhaust. I believe this is axleback too.
HKS: Don't like the way the mufflers look on the sedan and I question the quality of the welds after my last experience with them. The exhaust sounds awesome though.
Invidia: Seems alot of people buy their midpipes but mystified why no one buys the complete exhaust system from them.
F- Sport: From the video I heard on this exhaust I wasn't too thrilled with the sound.
So that's only 7 options right there that seem to be the most popular, Any other options to look at?
I guess another option would be to go custom.

Yea loving the sound of the Greddy but I hate those big canisters, going to have to paint them matte black. Hehe

The sound is simply awesome in conjunction with headers. Also, If you plan on installing headers, I strongly suggest staying away from the Invidia mid pipes as they sound like a rice factory. Way too raspy.
I can't comment on the full Invidia exhaust set up.
Also, if you go with the Greddy or HKS set up, once a rear lip is installed, the canisters become less obvious.

I've had my local muffler shop welded 2 magnaflow mufflers to become a "custom" axel back system. not too bad at all, for the price. Ended up being about $400 all together, much cheaper than any of the options made by the brand names. It was on my 3GS430, so not sure how it would sound on the 350. Looking for a mid pipe option as well, when I was at the shop, I asked the shop about just making a mid pipe for me as well, but he advised against it because it might throw a code. There are a few sensors in that area for the 430 at least.

I went the MagnaFlow route and had them exhaust pipeste a true dual exhaust. It has a nice low tone and I can feel the power increase. Don't go this route if you don't want to hear an exhaust tone inside of the car.
