Wow, its been along time since I have posted here

I have a '06 GS 300 that I have owned since new with 95K miles. I just had it serviced at the dealer for an oil change and they did not mention the timing belt.

I have researched "googled" this question and strangely enough there are 2 answers to whether or not it has a belt or chain.

What is it? Does it have have a belt or chain?

I even looked on Sewell parts and didn't see the belt for sale on there.

Your advise is appreciated.

Timing chain. No research necessary. Just open your hood and pop off the engine cover. You'll see the chain on the left side of the engine.

GS300 timing chain… the GS430 is the only one with the timing belt…
can't tell you why though...

The GS 300 3rd gen is a chain. The GS 430 3rd gen is a belt because it was a a carry over engine from the previous generation
