71512-30650 Pad, FR Seat Cushion : $180

Thing is... It may or may not be the same cushion for all of the 3GSs through the entire generation.

All I know is that the comfort level increased 10x!
If you are even anywhere close to considering doing this, do it. It feels just like new and I have zero reservation in saying it makes me love my daily drive much much more.

There are no bolts. The leather cover has little plastic flaps that tuck into the seat frame.

So how do you remove the seat bottom? I thought it is somehow screwed into the seat.

After you get the plastic trim out of the way, all you do is unclip the leather cover from under the seat where the tabs are inserted into the seat frame. The seat cushion comes right out after that. It has no bolts, no screws. The seat cushion and the leather cover are 1 piece essentially, until you unhook all of those little 'O' ring things.

i noticed 2 screws tht hold on the plastic molding on the front of the seat. How do you remove the side molding where the seat controls are?

Pop off the seat controls by just popping them off... then there is a little plastic door that needs to be popped open. Pop it open and remove the plastic trim piece... but here is the catch, it is still on the seatbelt. SO, I just pulled the thing back into the back seat to the side. Didn't get in the way.

Also, you have to get at the screws under the rear of the seat holding the little flap that has the LED foot light. You must disconnect the foot light. There are also a couple screws holding on the lower back part of the back of the seat. You have to remove those as well.

If you do, just be patient. It really is a rewarding experience.
