He did a transmission fluid change procedure.

I'd advise against you doing a drain and fill if you're not very savvy. I've done manual transmission fluid changes in other cars, done transmission fluid changes in tons of unsealed transmission, but I haven't and probably will never touch my GS' transmission for the sake of being cautious. I would use the sealed transmission machine to change the fluids on your vehicle, folks like KuWuPt have experience and have done it without the machine (but by hand with measuring).

GL buddy!

Default Transmission drain and fill

If you just drain 3 qts. and add 3, do you still have to mess with the 4 and 13 OBD etc?

If you are very precise in your measurement, I would say no.

From what I've read, it is not as simple as drain and fill. Transmission fluid temperature plays a big part on how much fluid comes out. If temperature is hot, there will appear to me more fluid than if it was cold.
I would only do a drain and fill on a cold transmission. Fluid that comes out is cold, fluid that comes in is cold. same temp.

What is the typical dealership cost for a rain and fill? With 3 to 4 quarts of the WS fluid being used? Sorry to revive an older thread, but want to see if i'm being quoted a fair price for the service.

Default Transmission fluid

That's sounds right. Each quart runs about $10.
