06 GS300 MPG issue *** need your input
Dear All,
i have a 06 GS300 RWD, 95k miles, 18" rim, tire: 245/45/ FR / 255/45/ RR.
i also have a DC short ram intake, car is lowered slightly about an inch all around.
reguarily oil change and maintenece, and i drive mostly speed at 40 mph on the streets.
above is about all mods i've done, but i am getting 13MPG in city, that is really bad, and before the intake, it was about 16 MPG city.
i thought by changing the intake would give me a little better MPG, but seems like it did worse.
Does anyone know anything i can do?????

Depending on what kind of mechanical ability you have, I'd check the spark plugs.
If they have not been changed, that could be a factor. I've seen short rams that actually make cars run worse, might want to put the stock intake back to see if it was the source of your issue.
Make sure your tire pressure is adequate as well.

What kind of fuel are you using? Take a look at the pump next fill-up and see what % ethanol is being added. I have a 102k 06, I've always run 87 w/ 10% ethanol that the refinery bastards force on us. I average 18-20 mpg in mostly (spirited) city driving. Original plugs but peeping for major service in a couple of weeks.
