3m front bra

Highly recommended for the protective film. Paying someone to do the job if you are not handy or no experience... if you can lay a smartphone film without a bubble you might have a shot of DIY. Labor is probably twice the film cost no matter the dealer or not.

I bought a 3M kit off of ebay for $230 (1/3 of hood, pre-cut bumper w/ parking sensor cutouts, fenders, and side mirrors) - I was trying to be cheap about it. In short, If I had the money to spare I would probably have paid the dealer for it... I do love having the bra, though, it really does give me peace of mind...
I have had quite a bit of experience putting the 3M film on my laptops (apple's aluminum bodies), and various other electronics - yeah, I'm that kind of guy... So, in sort, I thought I'd give it a shot - and it was quite difficult to install (probably would have been easier if I had a friend help, but I only had a friend for about 10% of it...) - There are plenty of guides online about the proper solutions to use for mounting the film, it was quite tricky - as it is so large, and I was being particular.
There are so many convolutions in the hood and the bumper that it is hard to get everything perfect - I had to cut mine in 2 small areas to make it fit, it survives the 5' test, but up close you can tell it has been cut.
I can post pictures if anyone is interested..
I also bought headlamp, high-beam, fog, and taillamp covers (all clear) to finish up the job, the lights went well - I love the look of my GS!

It is not a DIY type job. In Chicago the best installer I know of is Rick at www.body-skins.com. I have known Rick for years as I install film as well. He has great rates, is mobile, and does excellent work. I highly recommend him if you are in the Chicago area. And with the poor quality of roads up there a clear bra is a must in my opinion.
