Default front seats swap??

Has anyone driven a 2012 ES 350? I think the driver seat is much more comfortable than the seat in my 06 GS 300. I am really looking into seeing if the seats are interchangeable, and the feasibility of swapping them out. I don't even want to start in on rear seats! honestly has anyone ever tried to lay in their rear seat? it's the most uncomfortable thing ever, I expected so much more from Lexus.

Haven't compared the seats, but it would naturally be more comfortable as your seats now have 6 years of wear and the padding is broken down. Haven't tried to lay down in the my rear seat. But with the economy continually declining, I may be living out of my car soon!

well I have a day to day donkey I drive, my GS has less than 50K miles on it. as far as naturally more comfortable, it may be due to engineering gains made by lexus during the 6 yrs I've owned my car. those Es350 seats are comfy man!

That's true too. 6 years of progress should produce a better seat and more comfort. I tested the 13 GS 350, but didn't notice a real difference in seat quality, but I may need to go back and focus a little more on that aspect. It's funny how important that is now as I'm in my 40's, where as when I was 20 something, it was all about looks.

Oh, and I do like the ES 350 as well. In some ways, the look is nicer to me. I'm gonna have to try one out for size too. Maybe those seats will will convice me to switch.

I got a quote to replace the cushions in my drivers seat. 100% oem cushions installed was 700. Seeing as these seats are $6000+ that's a steal.

I think you had a thread on that. I was interested also. 700 still feels a bit too much.

If one were only to have the seat cushion replaced, it would be about 350. 700 is for the seat back as well. The parts account for less than half of the total cost.

I have taken apart more car interiors than I care to count, but never have I taken apart a seat.

Where would someone find a diagram or work instruction on taking apart one of these seats?

From what I've heard, there is no stitching involved.

I was thinking more along the lines of taking them off a total loss salvage vehicle. the difference in comfortablity is night and day IMO. it's not so much as having my existing seats recushioned, I'd rather have the 2012 es350 seats in my car period.

It's whether the seat's connections will be the same - airbag, cooling/heating, not to mention the rails.
I'm presuming you've a black interior, so less hassle to colour match?

+1

You can make anything 'fit', but I have no faith that it would be worth tackling the project.

My guess is that the brackets/rails will not line up.

I'm thinking not worth the hassle either.... I say if u want comfort... Have a shop redo your seats to that specific specification.

You guys have forgotten that our cars are sports inspired, not built for comfort like an Es or Ls..... Maybe that's just me.... But when sitting in every Lexus I get a different feel..... Ct Es Ls gx Ls all comfort..... Is gs mostly sporty
