Hi, I have 2006 Lexus GS300 with 95K miles. My check engine, check VSC and traction lights came on. I get an error code: "P2757 Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Performance or Stuck Off ". I was given the following different solutions that may work: replace the solenoid, service the transmission or replace transmission. I'm going crazy and don't know what to do. Has anyone had this problem? What was your solution? Did it work? Thanks!

Someone posted up their problems to this previously before. Are you out of warranty? If so, an independent mech. might help you. Make sure you find a very reputable one at that! You've basically found out what it is and what the solutions are, so if you're not up to it (I wouldn't be if it were my lexus) I'd take it in.

As I posted in one of the 3 other threads your exact same post was made, before being tidied up by the moderators.......

At 95K, get the cheap option done - transmission oil change.
If the dash lights up again, and the code is the same or relates to the transmission, then the solenoid would be my next try.
If the transmission is stuffed, then find a salvage yard replacement with Torque Converter attached, and use that.
Be a lot cheaper than paying $3.5-4K, albeit with the security of a 12 month warranty.

there's a company, I think it was TTC performance that does rebuilt torque converters, with lifetime warranty. Stalls to your specs too.

EDIT: It was not TTC Performance, it was Lextreme.

Thanks guys! I'll take it into AAMCO today for a transmission flush, which is about $120. I love my car and don't want to trade it in. It's paid off and looks great with the 20" MMR HR2 rims. I bet it's the solenoid, but I hate that Lexus told me I have a 60/40 chance of the transmission not failing!

I changed the transmission oil yesterday for $129. The car is running smoother and slippage I was having, when I accelerate after coming to a complete stop, hasn't happened (crossing my fingers). The check engine, vsc and traction lights haven't came on yet either. The aamco guy said the tranny oil was really black. Hopefully that solved it, but only time will tell. Thanks for the advice Boron!

No problemo squire, just hope that's the end of your transmission concern - for at least another 40K when the next oil exchange is due.
Did you ask or were you told how much they drained and replaced?

I didn't ask how much was drained, but I was worried when I looked at the bill and saw they didn't change the filter. I've heard the transmission doesn't have a filter or does it? I still think the solenoid needs replacement, but I'll have to wait for the lights to come back on to make sure.

Filter, if like the BMW 7 Series E65, is part and parcel of the pan.
That being said, someone posted a pdf link for our transmission - technical manual perhaps - and with a quick skim over it, I didn't see mention of anything other than a drain hole and fill hole mentioned.
If that's the case for a fluid exchange rather than changing the torque converter or the like, then the pan and filter stay put.
I guess it'd depend on how much swarf there would be compared to the ZF design, which may negate the need to replace.
Mind you, the ZF one is plastic, and has a tendency to warp, so leaking out from the gasket which is no longer making a proper seal.
Don't know which I'd prefer of the two, but the fact your transmission oil was black shows the degradation it has gone through over the 95K miles it's been operating, not including idle times in traffic/parked/etc.

Certainly stacks up to what the transmission company in the UK I spoke with, when I was contemplating a 3GS with a non-operating reverse selection.
As transmission specialists for over 35 years, they highly advocate 40K mile changes, and say 80-90K is when they typically see cars coming to them with problems - some earlier, some later, but the median is this sort of mileage.
A few $$$ 2-3 times during your ownership, is an insurance premium worth paying to stave off much higher costs to replace/rebuild it.

I agree. I'm thinking of getting my car serviced, any recommendation on what I should get serviced? I'm getting an oil change for sure. Should I just ask the mechanic to look at my entire car and tell me what wrong are there certain areas I ask him to inspect?

sorry to revive a old thread, but I have a similar problem on my
2006 GS300 with 92000miles
ODBII scanner says error message P2757, I have hard shifts when the car has fully warmed up (after 15-20mins driving from cold) the car sometimes stalls when parking or when at very low speeds during this time (RPMs are very low as well). After turning the car off for 10mins and turning the car back on, everything seems perfect. Shifts are smooth and it doesn't stall.

This problem is driving me insane!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i had that issue, it happened to be my transmission. Even after rebuilding it and doing other things prior. It was never the same and i sold it. Good luck to you, and hope your issue isn't as bad!
