Default Shopping now, would you stick with a 3gen GS?

I'm in the market for a midsize luxury car. I've looked at the IS250, GS350, 335d, 528i, G37, M37. If you were looking to spend 30-40k, would you stick with the 2010-2011 GS350?

The IS and 3-series were too small. The Infiniti quality did not come close to Lexus. I liked the 528i, but their reliability concerns me. I keep vehicles 10 years. Got a baby on the way, so a 4 door with some room is a must have (rear facing infants seats take up leg room). It looks like the GS trunk can handle a weekend trip (2 golf bags, some duffel bags, and baby gear). I also have a 4Runner for bad weather or hauling a lot of junk.

I searched the forum and could not find any common issues with the 2010/2011. They are priced in budget. I've actually found new 2011s for sale that have never been titled.

I think the GS is the best sedan for my needs. What do you think? are there any other cars you would look at? thanks.

I had an IS350 prior to my GS350, def way too small for a baby seat. 528s lack power and depreciates in value really quick. I'm a fan of the m35/45 but it still doesn't compare to the GS350. Maybe I'm biased but I think the GS350 would be perfect.

Might be hard to do, depending on mileage you'd accept, but towards the top end of your budget, I'd be tempted to look at an LS460 as a potential alternative.

Out of the cars you've listed....I'd still pick the GS. However, the trunk space is kind of tight.

GS is a bit old at this point.
For that money, Id go for a LS460.

pay for your kids college first .........then get a LS. Seriously though whatever car you get make sure you can fit two car seats in the back with an adult in the middle. We didn't plan for baby #2 so I had two car seats at the same time and wife in the back seat sometimes. We ended up buying an Acadia. Kids are out of car seats now so we bought the GS. Now if I can only keep there hands off of the buttons

3GS trunk is tiny. I have 2 kids, the space is pretty much useless. Im lucky can fit one stroller, that even tool me a while to actually put it in.

I agree with with them, get LS instead. U can get LS 07/08 depends on miles.

If you have a set budget I'd go with 3GS w/awd, it's slick and you rarely see it on the road, I'd get the LS but with awd and they ain't cheap up here in Canada!! 30-40 can get you rwd but not awd for that price in my area. Plus, aren;t you from Maryland? it snows a lot there no?

Did you miss the part where the OP states he has a 4Runner for bad weather, etc?

i like GS.. but like ppl say, i would go for LS,

M37 isn't bad but trust me that car actually could have more problem than a BMW, Nissan use really cheap paint so their paint get chip off really easily, their interior smell like crap if u sweat a lot, i don't see that problem in my benz and GS, bring the car to a infiniti dealer for a check up, u can come back seeing a report on on your car like a 10 pages well written essay and easily 4 digi on the bill

535 are nice, only if u go for the F10, their engine are freaking beast once u chip it.
