Shopping now, would you stick with a 3gen GS?

No I didn't but are you saying one would know the exact prediction of the weather? I'm just suggesting some ideas to give him some thoughts. Just because you have a vehicle for winter, doesn't mean mother nature won't drop a bomb of snow unexpectedly while driving your GS while your winter vehicle is sitting pretty in your driveway, just saying.

Definately between the GS350 and 5 series beemer for me. It's just personal choice. The GS feels more luxurious to me, and the 5 series was more of a drivers car (sporty). I like the CPO program from Lexus more than BMW's.

For sure if you want a roomy family car the LS is the way to go.

Thanks for the LS460 suggestions! I overlooked it as an option. I thought it might be too big. But it is only 8" longer than the GS. I could get a nice CPO in my price range, maybe low 40s. The rear seat looks like it has a lot more room.

My wife takes the metro (subway) to work. The station is a 10 minute walk from home. She never drives, so I always have 2 vehicles to choose from. But I will get a dedicated snow tire setup for the GS. They are much safer even with the occasional snow/ice.

Can the GS fit 2 rear facing car seats with 5'9" passengers up front? My brother pointed out the 2 kid challenge. When they had a 2nd kid, he traded in his man card and got an Odyssey minivan. If we have 2 kids the GS would be the M-F daily driver. I would just need to fit car seats. I'd get a larger SUV for the weekends, vacations, and towing.

M37 isn't bad but trust me that car actually could have more problem than a BMW, Nissan use really cheap paint so their paint get chip off really easily, their interior smell like crap if u sweat a lot, i don't see that problem in my benz and GS, bring the car to a infiniti dealer for a check up, u can come back seeing a report on on your car like a 10 pages well written essay and easily 4 digi on the bill

535 are nice, only if u go for the F10, their engine are freaking beast once u chip it.
The switches, power seats, power windows, etc. in the Infiniti just felt low quality. Looking at the spare tire area ... the corner cutting was obvious. The sound deadening material was a patchwork of pads, the tool organizer was cheap. This was a 2009, so maybe they have improved. But my wife is not a car person, and she could tell. I like Infiniti. My next SUV might be a QX56. But I was not impressed with the G/M.

A 535 wagon would be great to drive. But I would not buy a BMW with the n54. It is just not a car you keep for 10 years. The 335d is great mpg and tons of power, just too small. If there was a 535d in 2009-2011, I would not be here. The 550i w/ sport package is tempting. But I'd probably go with an LS460. A little more boring, but a lot more reliable.

I would go with the GS. I am new to Gen 3 GS. Just bought a red 07' AWD and a pearl 09' AWD. Drove my Gen 2 GS400 169,000 miles with no service issues. The GS350 will be perfect. If you need the extra space, look for the LS. Good luck!!!
